Noura Mint Seymali

Hailing from a family of griots, Noura Mint Seymali has been the highest emissary of Mauritanian music for over a decade. Carrying her Moorish heritage to contemporary pathways, paved with psychedelic rock, Saharan funk and even “future pop”. She commands a well-oiled quartet singing and playing the ardin, a traditional female harp, joined by her husband Jeich Ould Chighaly (guitar), bassist Ousmane Touré (bass) and Matthew Tinari (drums, production).
